It is mandatory for employers operating in the State of Florida to offer workers’ compensation insurance to their employees. The type of industry, number of employees, and entity organization all influence the specific employer coverage requirements. The Bureau of Compliance provides the following information to help assess coverage needs for a particular company.
One (1) or more workers in the construction industry, including the company’s owner, who are corporate officers or members of a Limited Liability Company (LLC).
Four (4) or more workers, including firm owners who serve as corporate executives or Limited Liability Company (LLC) members, are classified as non-construction industry employees.
